For some reason I just can't seem to get my time organized enough to get everything caught up. I have missed blogging. Recent attempts at organization have failed. Then my camera broke. Then it rained. What does rain have to do with it you say?
Well, satellite internet sucks in the rain. Good in snow, bad in rain.
The one thing I have managed to do is start catching up on all of those nonemergency medical appointments that we push aside (teeth, orthotics, well-child checks, haircuts, oil changes, etc.)
Anyways, here is a picture of Benji in his new glasses. He is definately gaining a certain preschooler look to him lately. He is doing so well with wearing them. They are 3 times stronger than his old ones and he loves that he can actually see!

Daddy steals the medical spotlight
Yep. The pic is of the son, but the story is of the dad.
Daddy stole the spotlight today by breaking his finger. It was a real dramatic one too- with a finger hanging sideways kinda moment apparently. So glad I missed that.
Tonight I heard the older boys snickering in the bathroom that it was daddy's middle finger that he broke. I bet there will be stories told on the playground about that tomorrow!
I had to include the pic of the boy in glasses with this post though. He is finally wearing them consistently and looks so much like his biggest brother. Tomorrow is a trip to the eye doc for a new pair. These have been stepped on by an active toddler 20 too many times I think!

To sniff...or not to sniff.....
This pouty little boy (and his less pouty big brother) took a trip to the pediatrician's office today for his flumist dose. I gave the boys the choice of the flumist and a weekend of wearing a mask around their immune deficient little brother, or a poke in the arm and being done with it. Will wisely chose the flumist. Isaac pouted, hemmed, hawed, and finally declared his choice was....neither. Buzzzzz........wrong answer my lil germ carrying booger. So after much anguish he allowed Glenn and I to choose for him. The mask it is!
The boys did actually not need to see their pedicatrician but he came into the room to discuss the implications of bringing home a live virus in the nostrils to a chronically ill, immune deficient little brother. I assurred him that I was already all over it and related to him a recent ambush by docs at the U with their declaration that we ARE getting flumist, we ARE getting the H1N1 vaccine, and the boys WILL wear masks. Dr. Krell backed me up by giving the boys one last handwashing, mask wearing lecture. Really, it was not necessary as I had already done the "I-brought-you-into-this-world-I-can-take-you-out-if-you-expose-your-little-brother-to your-nose-germs" lecture. It was complete with a mommy glare and everything. It left one kid saying "okay mom I'll do anything to keep Benji out of the hospital." The other shrugged his shoulders, sighed, mumbled, and said "if I have to." Jeez....you would think I was asking him to give his brother a kidney or something!
So, seven hours later the oldest one is doing his best surgeon impression with thorough handwashing and mask wearing. The middle one may not make it through the weekend if his complaing, whining, and moping about having to wear a mask does not cease soon. Hence, the pouty picture. It was suppossed to be a cute pic of a cute kid in a mask. But what did I get?????
On the plus side the trip to the pediatrician showed that our older boys are huge, healthy, and well, one is happy.

jkshdfsjdhfsjkdbf!!!
I had a 5 minute phone conversation with my nephew, Tanner tonight.
I did not understand a single word he said. That's okay though because my brother was in the background on Tanner's end translating and my 9 year old was on my end, also translating. What the heck? I'm suppossed to be good at interpeting preschooler babble. Apparently that skill only applies to preschoolers who I conceived. For those of you who knew Isaac at age 4- you know what I mean.
Anyways, I did pick my name out of the conversation a few times. Man, do I ever love being Auntie Lori. Especially to a kid who can actually enunciate his "l"s!
Why can I not even give this away???
